An exhibition of work by ceramic artist Caroline Briggs is currently underway at Cowra’s Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre.
The exhibition began last week and will run until April 30.
Entry is by gold coin.
Briggs says she is intrigued by patterns found in the earth, sea and sky or within plant or animal forms.
“This body of work includes experiments with crawling and poured glazes, distorted forms, multicoloured and rubbed back slipware with a touch of gold and coloured porcelain and stoneware pieces,” Ms Briggs said of the Cowra exhibition.
Also on display are some of her semi abstract landscape paintings.
“I have been making pottery for nine years and hold a Certificate III in Ceramics from TAFE.
“I have consistently sold my work through local galleries and tourist outlets and have participated in several solo and group exhibitions.
Ms Briggs has also represented in a touring exhibition of central west ceramicists, “Earthly Encounters”, which has toured Orange, Bathurst, Gulgong and Sydney.
She is a “Highly Commended” award winner in a major exhibition/competition held at the Cowra Regional Gallery and has had a major work purchased for the Defence Force Academy Library in Canberra.
