Programs printed for eisteddfod

2/05/2008 11:04:11 AM
The program for the 55th Annual Eisteddfod has now been printed and is for sale for $8 at Cowra library, Natural Beauty and Tangles.

The program includes all sections for the Eisteddfod which will commence on Friday May 16 with Junior vocal and school choir Sections which are sponsored by Tokyo University of Agriculture Chor Farmer.

This will be followed on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 with the adult Vocal Sections which includes the Patricia Fagan Operatic Aria heats and final sponsored by the Calleen Trust with a total prize money of $9,200.

Other sections to be held on 17 and 18 will include the Musical Theatre Championships sponsored by the Motels of Cowra, and the Farley vocal Scholarships sponsored by Peter and Christine Delaney.

This is a great opportunity for the people of Cowra to listen to and enjoy quality voices at a very small cost.

The vocal sections of the eisteddfod will be followed by Instrumental Sections which commence on Monday May 19, which will include bands, percussion, woodwind and piano.

Sunday May 25 will be Dance Group Day.

This fast paced day will include over a hundred groups covering all styles of dance and all ages, over three sessions.

The dancing sections will then continue right through the week, culminating with the Ballet Scholarship and Dance Scholarship on Sunday June 1.

Speech and Drama sections which will commence on Monday June 2, will complete the competition of the eisteddfod.

Make sure you purchase your programme, and organise yourself so you can spend some time at the Cowra Civic Centre to enjoy many sections of the 55th Cowra Eisteddfod.

Consider purchasing a Season ticket so you can come and go as often, and whenever you want.

The Committee is now finalising the Roster of Helpers for the eisteddfod.

If you could give a few hours, morning, afternoon or night to assist with the running of the eisteddfod, please phone President Mandy Charnock 6342 3957.

The final meeting of the Cowra Eisteddfod Committee will be held at the rooms at the railway Station on Monday May 5 at 8pm.

Everyone is welcome.
