Biggest weekend of the year for netball players

16/05/2008 9:51:00 AM
Cowra Netball Association have their biggest and busiest weekend of the year this weekend.

On Saturday, during our normal competition games, we will be hosting two officials from Netball NSW who will be providing feedback and coaching to our up-and-coming umpires.

This will be followed by a level one umpiring course which takes place from 4.30pm-8.30pm at the sports centre at Cowra Public School.

The cost of the course is $35 which may be paid on the night.

Afternoon tea is provided along with some expert knowledge about the rules and regulations of the game of netball.

We strongly recommend the course to players, umpires and coaches alike.

Please contact Shavaughn Duncan on 6341 2245 if you wish to attend and have not already put your name on the list.

Sunday brings a very exciting and challenging day as we hold our annual representative carnival.

This year we have 50 teams participating and it is shaping up to be a huge day.

All representative teams need to be at the courts by 8.15am for photos and all parents of representative players have been allocated a time slot in which they will assist in the running of the carnival.

Once again our visitors from Netball NSW will be coaching umpires from across the region as the games take place.

The carnival begins at 8.30am and should run through to approximately 4pm. If your keen to watch some great netball please come along, buy a steak sandwich or a cappuccino and support our local association.

Junior teams have now been finalised. Team lists and a copy of the draw will be displayed on the noticeboard outside the canteen building.
