Colts: Good first-up performance from all players. All defended strongly. Nathan Leach and Toby Downing made inroads in defence every time they touched the ball. Jacob McNaught gave the final pass for three tries and a kick for the other. But the team defence won it on the day. Congratulations to all players. Also, a good game by Sam McDonald who played excellent at fullback and won the pizza award.
Kangaroos: Kane Brooks was solid in defence along with Jamie Sinclair. Daniel Jeffries was very busy at the back. All the forwards can hold their heads high. They have shown enough in one game to suggest they will be there when the whips are cracking even though they were beat in a tight one.
